MEXICO CITY ? Police in Mexico City have arrested two people in connection with the killings of two female journalists whose bound, naked bodies were found last month in a park.
The capital's chief prosecutor Miguel Mancera says the detained will be placed under house arrest while prosecutors gather more evidence to charge them in the deaths of Marcela Yarce and Rocio Gonzalez.
He hasn't identified the suspects but says the fingerprints of one of them were found inside the vehicle of one of the journalists.
Mancera said Monday that an autopsy showed the women were asphyxiated and later shot.
Yarce founded a political magazine but was no longer reporting and Gonzalez was a freelance journalist and owned a money-exchange business.
