How your company will control your Windows RT Tablet

Windows RT company connect

Windows on ARM really opens up the world of Windows to some great hardware. So great in fact that you'll probably have to buy one yourself if you want one to use at work. But a time will come where you'll want to get your work email and maybe even an app or two. You might already realize that by adding an ActiveSync email account to your tablet opens your new device up to restrictions by your system administrator -- like requiring a lock screen password or the ability to remotely wipe it - and in the Windows x86 world, your company uses things like an Active Directory (AD) Domain and its Group Policies to lock things down. But, AD isn't an option for Windows RT. According to the Building Windows 8 blog, Microsoft has instead built in the ability to connect to the company network to access apps, while at the same time, gives the admin the ability to control all the familiar AD security settings like bad password attempts, complexity requirements and can even verify your anti-malware software status. Of course if you leave the company or just want to use your tablet without entering a password, you can always break the tie and regain control of the security.

Nikon adds D3200 to its DSLR range, we go hands-on! (video)

Nikon outs D3200 to bolster its low-end DSLR line, we go hands-on!

Nikon's recent cashback promo gave us a twinge that new consumer models might be around the corner, but as of today there's just the one: the almost entry-level D3200, which Nikon hopes will complement the cheaper D3100 without supplanting it. The price gap between these two low-end DSLRs is significant -- around $150 based on current D3100 prices, with the black D3200 and regular 18-55mm kit lens expected to hit shelves at the end of April for $700. What does that extra outlay get you? Quite a lot, actually: a hefty resolution upgrade to 24-megapixels with an Expeed 3 processing engine, versus 14-megapixels mustered by D3100; an extra ISO notch of 6400, providing more flexibility in low-light situations; and also a much higher-res LCD display for cleaner live-viewing and playback, with around four times as many pixels as the D3100's grainy window. Read on for some initial impressions and a hands-on video, and you'll see that there are a couple of subtler selling points too.

Tammy Lynn Michaels on Spousal Support: A Matter of Gay Rights!

Yes, Tammy Lynn Michaels is demanding more money from ex Melissa Etheridge. She does not believe that $23,000 per month is sufficient spousal/child support.

But Michaels says in a new interview this is not because she's greedy. It's because the singer allegedly makes $178,000 per month and it's a question of math, fairness and gay rights.

Tammy Lynn Michaels and Melissa Etheridge

"It's the law," Michaels tells After Ellen. "When we were together, there were a lot of things said and shared between us. And a lot of things were promised. I'm standing here saying: "You wanted to fight for gay rights; you wanted everything to be fair. You wanted to stand up for all of us? Because now I'm an 'us,' the gays that wanted to have gay rights and equality and not look like dip s--ts."

It is true that, under California law, a wife would be entitled to 50% of her ex-husband's income upon divorce.

Does Tammy Lee see a reconciliation for her and Etheridge? She says the former couple actually does get along well at times already, typically when their children are involved.

"Melissa and I have a great face-to-face, direct relationship when it comes to the kids. We both want what we think is best."

Home Improvement | Things To Keep In Mind When Building An ...

Having your own indoor pool has many benefits - it?s fun, a great way to exercise and therapeutic for those suffering from arthritis, multiple sclerosis and other chronic conditions. Though indoor pools are common in gyms, clubhouses or community centers, having your own indoor pool is more convenient and fun. Here are a few things you should consider when building an indoor swimming pool.

Consulting a professional

Although it may seem easy, setting up an indoor swimming pool is a complex process that needs supervision of a builder or contractor who specializes in indoor pools. The professional will take care of the entire job - from building the pool to getting touch with the state officials to make sure that your pool is compliant with the laws of the region.

Hiring expert professionals may be a little expensive, but it will ensure that the rest of your house does not get damaged in the process. But before hiring a professional be sure to check for their licenses and references.

Make room for the pool

After hiring professionals, discuss with them to decide an ideal location of the indoor pool. Depending on the kind of indoor pool you want (an in ground swimming pool or above ground swimming pool) and its size, find a place in your house to accommodate it. Whether it is in ground or above ground, you will need to create extra space in the house by making room within or extending your property.

In addition to the space required for an indoor pool, you will also need a big budget for an in ground pool. If you cannot spend a lot of money on the pool, go for an above ground indoor pool that will cost lesser. But the advantage of indoor pools is that it increases the value of your property, which means that you will fetch a better price for your house at the time of selling it.

Equipment for the pool

To protect your house from the moisture and to maintain the hygiene in your pool, you need to install a few devices. The first thing you need is a vapor barrier. The vapor barrier, installed in the wall interior, will act as a barrier between the pool enclosure and the rest of the house. Secondly, install a moisture proof or highly moisture resistant insulation in the walls and the ceiling of the pool.

Next, you should install the indoor pool room glass, which must be double or triple sealed insulated glass rather than a storm window glass. Finally, install a ventilation system and a dehumidification system for your indoor pool. Installing the devices will keep your home safe and also your pool clean from mold and mildew. You can also install water heating system if you want a certain temperature in the pool.

Indoor pools guarantee you relief during the hot summer days and are a lot of fun throughout the year. But before you start using the pool, get an electrician and a plumber to check the electrical and water systems. After having all this done, you are now ready to take a dip!

Timothy Beal: BibliFact Roundup #2: Bible-n-Eggs with the President

"They welcomed the message very eagerly
and examined the scriptures every day
to see whether these things were so"

--Acts 17:11

As we make our way toward the 2012 elections, many feel tossed to and fro by often contradicting claims about what the Bible says on this or that political issue. Most people just don't know the Bible well enough to say whether these claims are right, wrong, correct, incorrect or a matter of interpretation. On top of that, political Bible talkers on the campaign trail rarely cite chapter and verse, making it tough for us to check them out for ourselves. The Bible is a powerful weapon that has been wielded for good and for ill throughout American history. How can we keep political Biblespeak honest? Inspired by PolitiFact.com, BibliFact roundups aim to do just that.

Roundup #1: Bible-n-Eggs with the President

President Obama has been quite the biblical expositor at recent prayer breakfasts. Here are a few highlights worth checking out.

2012-04-06-whithouse20120404easter.jpg

"For like us, Jesus knew doubt. Like us, Jesus knew fear. In the garden of Gethsemane, with attackers closing in around him, Jesus told his disciples, 'My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.' He fell to his knees, pleading with his Father, saying, 'If it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.' And yet, in the end, he confronted his fear with words of humble surrender, saying, 'If it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.'" -- President Obama, Easter Prayer Breakfast, April 4, 2112

2012-04-06-02yesbut50.jpg Yes, these are quotations from the story of Jesus and his disciples in Gethsemane on the night of his arrest in the Gospel of Matthew (26:36-46). But, although Jesus in this story does express sorrow or anguish, does he experience doubt and fear? That's not clear. Moreover, in the president's recounting, it sounds like Jesus initially tries to get out of it but finally, "in the end," gives in, saying "may your will be done." In fact, Jesus offers the same prayer three times, each time asking that "this cup" be taken away but then insisting that God's will, not his, be done. So the anguish and the surrender are both there from the start.

Interesting that, here and elsewhere, President Obama quotes from the 1984 edition of the New International Version, which is by far the most popular translation among evangelical Christians (most liberals prefer the New Revised Standard Version).

"We all have experiences that shake our faith. There are times where we have questions for God's plan relative to us. But that's precisely when we should remember Christ's own doubts and eventually his own triumph. Jesus told us as much in the book of John, when he said, "In this world you will have trouble." I heard an amen. Let me repeat. "In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." -- President Obama, Easter Prayer Breakfast, April 4, 2112

2012-04-06-01yes50.jpg Yes, the president is quoting John 16:33, in which Jesus is speaking to his disciples. Less reassuringly, in the verse immediately preceding this one, Jesus tells them that the time is near when they will be scattered and will abandon him. If verse 33 sounds like Easter Sunday, verse 32 sounds more like Good Friday.

2012-04-06-nationalprayerbreakfastP020509PS0098w2.jpg

At the National Prayer Breakfast on February 2, the president drew from several different biblical passages to explain how his policy positions are rooted in his religious values. The one that is attracting the most attention, and that we will likely hear him repeat, is this:

"And when I talk about shared responsibility, it's because I genuinely believe that in a time when many folks are struggling, at a time when we have enormous deficits, it's hard for me to ask seniors on a fixed income, or young people with student loans, or middle-class families who can barely pay the bills to shoulder the burden alone. And I think to myself, if I'm willing to give something up as somebody who's been extraordinarily blessed, and give up some of the tax breaks that I enjoy, I actually think that's going to make economic sense. But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus's teaching that 'for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.'"

2012-04-06-02yesbut50.jpg Yes, Jesus says this to his disciples in the Gospel of Luke (12:48). But he's not talking about taxes, money, or any sort of material wealth. Rather, he's talking about knowledge and responsibility. Jesus makes this statement after presenting a parable-like scenario in which a householder promotes one of his servants to be manager of the other servants. While the householder is away, however, that servant-manager shirks his responsibilities, beating the other servants and getting drunk. When the householder returns, he cuts the irresponsible servant to pieces. Jesus concludes that the one who knows what the householder wants - "unto whom much has been given" - and doesn't carry through deserves a far more severe punishment than the one who doesn't know any better.

This is the only biblical quotation in President Obama's prayer breakfast remarks that is not taken from the New International Version translation. In fact, it doesn't seem to match any particular translation. It is closest to the King James Version: "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required." But that could be a bit of a tongue-twister before your second cup of coffee in the morning.

DeMarco: Title will be heaven sent for Angels

Plenty of reasons to like the Halos, starting with Albert Pujols

Image: Albert PujolsAP

Albert Pujols makes the Angels better on paper, and his presence has also made a world of differences in the team's clubhouse.

OPINION

By Tony DeMarco

NBCSports.com contributor

updated 9:10 p.m. ET April 5, 2012

Tony DeMarco

Even among the elite half-dozen American League teams, there are reasons not to pick each to win the World Series:

History hasn't been kind to back-to-back World Series losers like the Rangers.

Do the Yankees' aging stars really have one more title in them?

The Rays don't hit enough.

Can the Tigers pitch and defend well enough?

The Red Sox's soap opera includes everything from manager/clubhouse adjustments to injuries to potential weak spots at closer, shortstop and right field.

And will the bullpen drag down the Angels despite the additions of Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson?

But here are enough reasons to like the Angels to win it all:

1. Anybody who watched them this spring couldn't help but feel a different vibe ? and for that, you can thank Pujols. It's right to question the length of his 10-year, $240-million deal, but Pujols' immediate impact in the clubhouse and on the field are obvious. The Angels believe they're going deep into October, with Pujols leading the way.

2. Not only did the Angels sign away the No. 1 pitcher from their top division rival, their rotation is deep enough that they've installed Wilson in the fourth slot. That plus the switch in home parks sets up well for a big season from Wilson, and the Angels should have the top starting foursome in the game.

3. Kendrys Morales was brought along slowly this spring, but has shown he's healthy enough for the Angels to reasonably expect 120-or-so games of solid production from him. Remember, Morales finished 5th in AL MVP voting in 2009, and was on his way to a big season before the ankle fracture in May 2010. Also keep in mind the Angels won 86 games last season without either Pujols or Morales in the lineup. Now they'll often be hitting 3-4.

4. Now that Joe Torre, Tony La Russa and Bobby Cox have walked away in the last two years, you can make a case for Mike Scioscia as the game's best and most-ensconced manager. His 12-year run at 1,066-878 (.548) includes five division titles and six 90-plus-win seasons in Anaheim. And it's about time for a second pennant and world championship.

5. As one scout said this spring about Howard Kendrick: "He's a .290 career hitter (.292 actually), and everyone knocks him.'' That's because Kendrick long has been regarded as a .300 hitter waiting to happen. After setting career highs in homers, runs and OPS in 2011, there's more upside left, as Kendrick will be hitting right in front of Pujols. That should mean more fastballs, and Kendrick can hit fastballs.

6. Arte Moreno long has operated one of the game's best-run franchises. This winter, he was smart enough to get out in front of the game's latest financial explosion fueled by exponential growth in international income and local television rights deals by signing Pujols and Wilson. There's a new economic stratosphere for the game's elite franchises, and Moreno got the jump and pushed the Angels into it.

7. Mark Trumbo has shown enough athleticism to handle third base at least on a limited basis. You know the Angels would like him to make a more-complete transition, so maybe he'll play there more than the 50-60 games they're projecting at this point. The lineup would benefit if he can. He'll also get some DH at-bats in place of Morales.

8. Jerry Dipoto is the rare ex-big-league player who has risen to the GM role, and possesses encyclopedic knowledge of both the game's history and current personnel. His unique combination of skills plus a high-energy enthusiasm will make him one of the game's better GMs. And since he knows his way around a pitching staff, look for him to make the right call on a mid-season pickup in the No. 5 rotation spot or bullpen, if needed.

9. It's been a rough recent stretch for elite prospect Mike Trout, who looked worn out in the Arizona Fall League, and was limited by a virus and lingering shoulder tendinitis this spring. But he's in Salt Lake City for now, and won't be back until there's a need, or until he forces his way to the big leagues by dominating at the Triple-A level.

Other picks and predictions:

Worst team coming out of Arizona: Cleveland (3-14 in their last 17 Cactus League games)

Worst team coming out of Florida: PIttsburgh (3-13 in their last 16 Grapefruit League games)

Over their projected win total: Toronto (81.5), St. Louis (83), Kansas City (80)

Under the projected win total: Atlanta (87), Colorado (81)

AL division champions: Angels, Tigers, Yankees

AL wildcards: Rangers, Rays

NL division champions: Phillies, Cardinals, Diamondbacks

NL wildcards: Marlins, Giants

AL Most Valuable Player: Pujols won three of them in the National League. Robinson Cano should win one of these years. Ditto Evan Longoria. But Miguel Cabrera should have won last year, and now finds himself in the favorable situation of hitting in front of Prince Fielder, and the potentially vote-gaining situation of making a successful transition to third base.

NL Most Valuable Player: Pujols and Fielder are gone, Ryan Howard is injured and Ryan Braun has issues that could make this season one of his toughest. Arguments can be made for Matt Kemp and Joey Votto, but we'll go with Justin Upton. Watch out for a healthy Hanley Ramirez and Hunter Pence, though.

AL Cy Young: Dominant teams have dominant starting pitching, so there's no shortage of elite candidates here. But from among Justin Verlander, CC Sabathia, Jered Weaver, Felix Hernandez, etc., we'll call for it to be David Price's big breakout year.

NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum went back-to-back in 2008-09, and it's time for Clayton Kershaw to turn that trick.

AL Rookie of the Year: This could be one of the best classes for any league in recent years, with elite prospects Matt Moore, Jesus Montero, Yoenis Cespedes, Addison Reed ? and when the time is right, Trout. Moore gets the call.

NL Rookie of the Year: It's tough to pick somebody who's beginning the season in the minor leagues. But with Devin Mesoraco and Yonder Alonso the other leading candidates, why not Bryce Harper?

AL Manager of the Year: Joe Maddon can win it any year, but we'll go with his former boss, Scioscia, this time. Darkhorse candidate: John Farrell.

NL Manager of the Year: One way or the other, Ozzie Guillen's Marlins are going to be interesting to watch. If this mix of talent comes together, they can make a significant jump from last place to a wild card spot. Darkhorse candidates: Mike Matheny, Don Mattingly.

AL Comeback Player of the Year: This could be easy now that Morales has passed the health test. But Twins Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau ? and Morales' teammate Vernon Wells ? could win it, too.

NL Comeback Player of the Year: Sentiment screams 49-year-old Jamie Moyer, but Adam Wainwright is a far better choice. So is Jayson Werth.

First manager fired: Too bad, but Brad Mills is an easy target ? last guaranteed year of his contract, bad team, new owner and general manager who didn't hire him.

First general manager fired: In case you haven't heard, Ned Colletti has new bosses who dropped a little coin for the franchise, and a contract with an out clause after this season. Big splash coming in LA soon.

2 Logical reasons why Low Calorie Diet programs Don't Work ...

Are you likely to follow a low calorie diet plan to be able to shed weight excess fat! Before you do that, see this write-up to learn why low calorie diet plans don?t work!

SizeGenetics. I can?t let you know the amount of folks have sent me personally stating that they adopted specific popular low calorie diet plans for a few months only to discover that they haven?t dropped many pounds. Therefore they believed which weight loss doesn?t seem possible and for that reason, they give up the diet program completely!

The top reasons why low-calorie diet plans don?t work is actually: when you eat low-calorie foods, your system fundamentally remains undernourished. You are feeling tired constantly. Ignore workouts, there isn?t sufficient energy to complete actually your normal routines. Every one of these things happen because your metabolic process is actually low!

If you want to shed weight successfully, you should maintain both of these issues in your mind:

1. Calories from fat are not your opponents: Calories from fat are not what you need to steer clear of; calories are required to provide your system with the essential diet and energy. Whenever your body gets sufficient food, it is going to increase your metabolic process, that can automatically result in weight loss!

Unhealthy calories are the ones that are available inside junk food. Thus as you will not build up excess fat to eat 10 celery each day (although an individual apple company contains practically 100 calories), you will surely acquire excess fat to eat 10 cheese burgers!

This is the simple variation! You should steer clear of vacant calories (that?s, junk food) as well as accept unfavorable calorie foods, such as vegetables and fruit. Today unfavorable calorie does not mean that there?s simply no calorie during these foods; that simply means that to be able to break down by themselves, these foods will certainly drive your system burning much more calories than what they provide! This leads to calorie deficit that can in the end result in weight loss!

2. Muscle mass building is a must: Have you any idea which to be able to maintain by themselves, muscles burn plenty of your calories? This in effect means that the more trim muscles you?ve got, the actual faster you will be able to shed weight! Eating protein-rich foods is a great method of creating trim muscles; exercising on a regular basis during a workout session is another. There is an additional however advantage of ingesting protein-rich foods: you may not experience hunger all too often; as a result, the potential for overindulging is nearly non-existent. Pai Skincare.

To eat low-calorie foods, you aren?t able to build muscles; as an alternative a person Shed muscles. Whenever your body does not have sufficient trim muscles, it isn?t able to get rid of fat since your metabolic process remains with an abnormally low-level. In order that is but one much more reasons why low calorie diet programs don?t work!

These types of low calorie diet programs will simply enable you to drop drinking water as well as muscles; as you maybe tricked in to assuming that you have really dropped numerous lots of pounds, you?ve not dropped the only most important factor that?s keeping you from turning into trim: which is Excess fat! Attack on Afghan government outpost kills 10

(AP) ? Gunmen attacked an outpost of a government-sponsored militia in western Afghanistan and killed 10 members of the security force, officials said Thursday.

Taliban spokesman Qari Yousef Ahmadi claimed responsibility for the attack.

Militants armed with assault rifles stormed the outpost of the militia known as the Afghan Local Police late Wednesday in Farah province's Khaki Safed district, said provincial police chief Shamsul Rahman Zahid.

They shot a guard who was posted outside, then pushed into the compound and opened fire on those inside, said Abdul Khaliq Noorzai, the district administrator.

Another two militia members were dragged outside and shot dead, said Zahid. Four militiamen survived the attack, he said.

The Afghan Local Police are a force created with the help of the American military. They have been described as an armed neighborhood watch. The members come from the local community and receive a small government salary to man checkpoints and oversee security in their area. They receive a few weeks of training before starting the work.

The attacks appear to be part of an increase in violence at the beginning of the spring fighting season. During the harsh Afghan winter, snow often blocks roads and fighting dies down.

The death toll from a separate attack Wednesday by a Taliban suicide bomber on a motorcycle rose Thursday to 13, including three American soldiers, according to NATO and U.S. forces. Previously the toll was reported to be at least 10.

The Taliban are targeting Afghan and NATO security forces as they fight to assert their power and undermine U.S. efforts to try to build up the Afghan military, which will take the lead in combat responsibility over the next couple of years.

Improve Athletic Mental Toughness by Using Proven Training ...

If you were thirsty, would you eat a piece of bread?

If your feet hurt, would you buy a new shirt?

If you didn?t have much money, would you go out and spend more money?

In all of the examples above I have given silly potential ?solutions? for the problems that were presented ? obviously none of the answers provided make any logical sense.? There is a sports connection in these examples, however, and one that applies specifically to the question millions of athletes face nearly every day of their lives.

?If I struggle with mental toughness, then I should do _______ to fix the problem.?

Ironically, what people put in the blank is as varied as there are people who compete in sports ? and in the vast majority of cases, the ?solutions? they come up with work just about as effectively as eating a piece of bread when you are thristy.

In other words, the solutions most people come up with when it comes to mental toughness don?t work.

Common Errors

When it comes to mental toughness, loosely defined as an athlete?s ability to develop self confidence, improve focus, and strengthen resiliency, I can provide a short laundry list of common things people do that simply do not work:

  • Practice more. Sure, more practice is usually a good thing when it comes to skill improvement, but if you think simply increasing practice time in an empty gym will help an athlete better perform under pressure in front of thousands of people you are likely mistaken.? As we all know, practicing alone is not a ?pressure? situation, so the challenge of performing in front of crowds will not improve by just adding more practice time.
  • Yell at the athlete. Usually after seeing an athlete choke enough times most coaches will eventually respond with some kind of heated verbal communication ? which can be encouraging or belittling.? Sure, this might get a kid?s attention, but it does nothing to teach him how to improve his confidence the next time he is called upon to help his team.
  • Try any and all unorthodox ways to magically help the athlete improve mental toughness. Rather than obtain authentic sport psychology mental skills training, some coaches and parents will resort to literally anything for some kind of a magical answer, including hypnosis, energy drinks, power bracelets, and just about any other new craze or fad that sounds good.

What?s really interesting about this discussion around improving mental toughness is that the overwhelming majority of athletes today (especially youth and interscholastic athletes) regularly experience challenges when it comes to confidence, motivation, focus, and resiliency ? yet only a small fraction of these athletes are able to actually find (and use) good sport psychology-based scietific training that specifically address these concerns!

So if your feet hurt, would you buy a new shirt?? Of course not ? but that?s exactly what you are doing if you think your son will magically all of a sudden learn how to control his emotions by simply having him shoot 100 more times in an empty gym.? In this example, the extra shooting might help his hand-eye coordination, but it will do little, if anything, for how he responds negatively when he misses shots in games.

Why Mental Toughness Matters!

What?s even more interesting about the concern of improving mental toughness is how invaluable it is as it applies to athletic proficiency and success.? Without perfect mind-body synchrony (that can only be achieved by controlling arousal, attention, and focus), thousands of athletes each day perform below their capabilities not because of their potential talent, but rather their inability to successfully improve their mental toughness!

If you are a coach or parent of an athlete, have you witnessed mental breakdowns, ?choking,? struggles with anxiety, anger outbursts, or athletes who perform much better in practice than they do in games?? If you answered yes to any of these, what have you done to help improve the situation?? Did you pick up a piece of bread when in fact you needed something to drink? If you told the kid to ?practice more? or to start wearing a power bracelet, in essence, you did.

3 Good Anger Management Techniques That Actually Help You ...

A person doesn?t need to have an official diagnosis of anger issues to benefit positively from using different anger management techniques. It?s true: anger management techniques are also the same techniques that are used to reduce stress. You can effectively train your mind and develop new habits that will serve to calm yourself when upset or stressed. As you know, many times anger develops when a person is under too much stress for too long a period without using any kind of support to alleviate the stress. Today?s article will review three proven anger management techniques that you can use to make a positive difference with your perspectives and behavior.

Constructive venting is a tried and true anger management technique that has been around almost forever. Yes, perhaps the biggest contributing factor to a person?s ?explosion? is the fact that he or she has been keeping his/her anger or stress to him/herself for way too long. All of that angry and stressed out energy gets kept inside and builds intense pressure. You need to find a person that you can talk to about the issues that are causing you to feel anger. Remember that you cannot abuse the person you choose and you cannot use them constantly as an outlet for the anger that you feel. You can also use non verbal methods for venting.

Understand bail bonds?

The problems surrounding anger issues are far more complicated and hard to diagnose and manage. There is not one single technique that successfully cures or manages anger for everyone. One extremely insidious problem people deal with is chronic anger which is famously difficult to manage. A person who has chronic anger often exhibits obvious signs of the issue. Some think that the best treatment for chronic anger problems involves the daily practicing of anger management techniques and, potentially, a professional intervention. If you suffer from chronic anger it is most likely that the cause is rooted somewhere in the early years of your life?as early as when you were still forming your behavioral, belief and habitual tendencies.

Your perspective and personal outlook are incredibly important for making sure that you get the most from your anger management techniques. Try to make an effort to infuse some humor into your life. Try to create a habit of taking a moment or two to really step back and look at what is going on for you. The triggers that usually bring on your anger won?t be as powerful if you learn how to step back and find an alternative perspective for them. It is absolutely possible to do your own research both online and in professional documents about good anger management techniques. You should start, however, within yourself: a journey of self discovery is always a good idea. Listing all of your anger triggers is one example of how to do this. You will notice that certain people, places and situations always seem to be at the middle of your outbursts. Look for common themes when you make this list. Most of the time simply knowing what triggers your anger can help you remember to tread carefully in its presence.

Would you benefit from agents that are professionals and understand the stresses you face when getting bail for a friend or a loved one? A Way Out Bail Bonds, has locations near both Lee and Hendry county jails in Florida and is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Anyone can find themselves needing bail at any point in their lives. Click the link to find more about All Out Bail Bonds Fort Myers.

findmypast.com Will Find 1940 U.S. Census Records for You ...

Santa Monica, CA. April 4, 2012: The 1940 Census has finally been released and you can now browse the images online. But the waiting?s not over, since you still won?t be able to search the whole census by person until it?s fully indexed in several months.

Help, however, is at hand. Findmypast.com has come up with a way to make your search quicker and simpler ? by offering to do the searching for you.

Findmypast.com is the new U.S. addition to the global network of findmypast family history websites, launched in a limited, early form in time for the 1940 Census. Its unique new, customized feature, created for the 1940 Census, is called ?We?ll find them for you? and is now live.

All you have to do is to visit findmypast.com, submit the name of the person you?re searching for, plus some extra clues, and findmypast.com will email you as soon as the person?s records become available.

?We?re taking the hassle and delay out of searching?, says Brian Speckart, marketing manager of findmypast.com. ?With this new feature, findmypast.com is going the extra mile to help you find your past as quickly and easily as possible.?

While the whole census won?t be searchable for several months, the records of individual U.S. states will be made searchable earlier, one state at a time. A couple of them are likely to be done by mid-April.

Some genealogy sites are offering to alert users simply when a particular state has been indexed. ?But we?re going further and finding the particular individual you?re looking for?, says Speckart.

You have to tell findmypast.com in which state the person was living at the time of the 1940 Census. ?As soon as that state is indexed, we run a program against the data to find the individual you?re looking for you and then email you the links we find?, says Speckart.

The job of indexing states one by one is being done by an army of volunteers under the banner of the 1940 Community Project, of which findmypast.com is a proud member.

Visitors to findmypast.com will be able to use the site?s new ?We?ll find them for you? feature to submit details of the person they want to find.

Supplying the person?s first and last name and state where they were living in 1940 is all that?s required but providing additional clues will help findmypast.com narrow down the search results. Other helpful information includes approximate year of birth, likely birth city, place of residence in 1940 and names of other household members.

The new service isn?t just limited to family members either. Users can submit details of celebrities or other public figures and ask findmypast.com to find them too.

?So, if you happen to know that Marilyn Monroe?s real name was Norma Jean and which state she called home in 1940, we?ll find her for you too?, says Speckart.

About findmypast.com

findmypast.com is a proud participant in the 1940 US Census Community Project and the new US addition to the global network of findmypast family history websites, with over 18 million registered members worldwide and over a billion genealogical records dating back to 1200.

From early April 2012, visitors to findmypast.com will be able to browse 1940 US Census images and find out more about their American family tree.

A full launch of findmypast.com will happen this summer. This will provide US customers with an extensive set of US records, in addition to a vast overseas collection, including a billion English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Australian and New Zealand records, plus millions of pages from the British Library's newspaper collection.

NASA's SOFIA captures image of dying, outflowing star

ScienceDaily (Apr. 4, 2012) ? Researchers using NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) have captured an infrared image of the last exhalations of a dying sun-like star.

The object observed by SOFIA, planetary nebula Minkowski 2-9, or M2-9 for short, is seen in this three-color composite image.

"The SOFIA images provide our most complete picture of the outflowing material on its way to being recycled into the next generation of stars and planets," said Mike Werner, principal investigator of the observations at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. "We were gratified to see the lobes so clearly using SOFIA. These early results demonstrate the scientific potential of this important new observatory."

Objects such as M2-9 are called planetary nebulae due to a mistake made by early astronomers, who discovered these objects while sweeping the sky with small telescopes. Many of these nebulae have the color, shape and size of Uranus and Neptune, so they were dubbed planetary nebulae. The name persists despite the fact that these nebulae are now known to be distant clouds of material, far beyond our solar system, which are shed by stars about the size of our sun undergoing upheavals during their final life stages.

Although the M2-9 nebular material is flowing out from a spherical star, it is extended in one dimension, appearing as a cylinder or hourglass. Astronomers hypothesize that planetary nebulae with such shapes are produced by opposing flows of high-speed material caused by a disk of material around the dying star, located at the center of the nebula. SOFIA's observations of M2-9 were designed to study the outflow in detail with the goal of better understanding this stellar life cycle stage, which is important in our galaxy's evolution.

The SOFIA observations were made at the mid-infrared wavelengths of 20, 24, and 37 microns. The 37-micron wavelength band detects the strongest emissions from the nebula and is impossible to observe from ground-based telescopes.

The observations were made using the Faint Object Infrared Camera for the SOFIA Telescope (FORCAST) instrument in June 2011 by a team consisting of astronomers from JPL, the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, the University of California at Los Angeles, Cornell University and Ithaca College, both in Ithaca, N.Y. Preliminary analyses of these data were first presented in January 2012 at the American Astronomical Society meeting in Austin, Texas.

The SOFIA observatory combines an extensively modified Boeing 747SP aircraft and a 17-metric-ton reflecting telescope with an effective diameter of 100 inches (2.5 meters) to altitudes as high as 45,000 feet (14 kilometers). This places the telescope above more than 99 percent of the water vapor in Earth's atmosphere that blocks most infrared radiation from celestial sources.

SOFIA is a joint project of NASA and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and is based and managed at NASA's Dryden Aircraft Operations Facility in Palmdale, Calif. NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., manages the SOFIA science and mission operations in cooperation with the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), headquartered in Columbia, Md., and the German SOFIA Institute (DSI) at the University of Stuttgart.

Google shows off prototype augmented reality glasses

17 hrs.

We've heard rumors about Google working on augmented reality glasses, but now the search engine giant has confirmed the existence of what it calls Project Glass?? and it's as awesome as you might imagine.

As you can see in the video below or on the Project Glass Google+ page, this new wearable technology will basically consist of?a pair of clever glasses which contain a display, a camera, a microphone, and everything necessary to make some sci-fi fantasies come true. (But keep in mind that the Project Glass designs are simply ideas, not final products at this point though.)

So what will you do with a pair of these strange glasses?

Well, you might wake up, slip on your Google glasses and set some calendar alerts before looking up directions to your first meeting of the day. While walking to your destination, you may pause to snap a photo of a funny sign (which you instantly share with your friends via a social media service of your choice) or find a coffee shop. Later you could start a video-chat with a friend and show him or her your current view.

And you'd do all of this without ever reaching for a computer or smartphone. You'd simply speak or tap a button on the glasses and the appropriate actions commence.

In theory, the glasses should ? pardon the pun ??augment your day-to-day life, but one could imagine that some folks would get distracted by all the information appearing right before their eyes at any given moment.

But let's be honest: Even those concerns are not be enough to prevent most of us from eagerly lining up to purchase Google's glasses once they're available. After all, who hasn't dreamed of subtly looking up information while seemingly paying attention to a conversation?

Want more tech news, silly puns, or amusing links? You'll get plenty of all three if you keep up with Rosa Golijan, the writer of this post, by following her on?Twitter, subscribing to her?Facebook?posts, or circling her?on?Google+.

Barca, Bayern to Champions semis

By ROB HARRIS

AP Sports Writer

Associated Press Sports

updated 7:19 p.m. ET April 3, 2012

LONDON (AP) -Lionel Messi swept holder Barcelona into the Champions League semifinals for the fifth successive year on Tuesday while becoming the competition's most prolific scorer in a single season.

The Argentina forward scored a pair of first-half penalty kicks and Andres Iniesta added another goal after the break to give Barcelona a 3-1 victory over AC Milan following a 0-0 draw in Italy.

Messi's 14th Champions League goal this season surpassed Ruud van Nistelrooy's tally in the 2002-03 campaign.

Ivica Olic also scored twice on Tuesday to ensure Bayern Munich joined fellow four-time champion Barcelona in the semifinals.

Bayern emulated its 2-0 first-leg victory over Marseille to advance 4-0 on aggregate.

Barcelona was helped by the two penalties against Milan - the second for the type of shirt pulling in the area that often goes unpunished - but coach Pep Guardiola said the victory was well deserved.

"You can talk all you want about referees but that makes it five straight semifinals, the fruits of our talent and a lot of work," Guardiola said. "We deserved more than to just get through so I'm satisfied."

Bayern will likely face Real Madrid in the semifinals, with the Spanish leaders protecting a 3-0 lead over Cypriot team APOEL Nicosia on Wednesday. Chelsea will play Barcelona in the last four if the London club can defend a 1-0 lead over Benfica.

But with Pep Guardiola's side seemingly impervious in Europe, Barca is primed to become the first team to defend the European Cup since the Champions League's inception in the 1992-93 season.

Protecting Messi will be key, though, with the Argentina forward having already netted 58 goals this season in all competitions.

He slotted his first into the net after 11 minutes at the Camp Nou after being brought down in the penalty area by Luca Antonini.

There was a brief response from the Italian champions against the run of play, with Antonio Nocerino leveling in the 32nd.

Robinho picked out Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the former Barcelona striker slipped the ball through for Nocerino to strike past Victor Valdes.

But that away goal wasn't enough for Milan as Messi restored the hosts' lead in the 41st from the spot after Alessandro Nesta hauled Sergio Busquets down. Messi's 14th European Cup goal of the season matched Mazzola Altafini's 49-year-old record.

"Sometimes the referee made too many concessions," Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri said. "I don't know if it proved decisive. We made a mistake on the first penalty but he helped on the second. Playing Barca is never easy."

While Messi was denied a hat trick at the start of the second half when his shot was blocked, the ball fell for Iniesta to extend Barca's lead from a tight angle.

"We had to work really hard against a great side and we are thrilled to be in the semifinals," Iniesta said.

Milan has not reached the semifinals since winning the Champions League in 2007.

But Bayern is into the last four for the second time in the three years thanks in part to Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes resting Mario Gomez in favor of Olic.

And on a rare start, Olic delivered.

His first goal was an easy tap-in into the net in the 13th after former Marseille player Franck Ribery glided past the visiting defense to set up the Croatian.

Ribery also helped to create the second by feeding David Alaba down the left flank, and the Austrian midfielder crossed for Olic to nip ahead of his marker and score from close range.

"Both goals were very well played," Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes said. "I'm happy for Olic because he not only played well, but he scored and had a huge impact on the game. He's a bonus for the rest of the season. We have hard matches ahead of us and I need players like him who can decide games."

Long-running hacker magazine 2600 has been digging into its archives quite a bit as of late (it began releasing videos of the early HOPE conferences in December), and it's now gone back right to the beginning for its latest offering. It's just released 2600: The Hacker Digest - Volume 1, a DRM-free ebook that collects its first year of newsletters -- reformatted in book form for easier reading, but with every last detail intact (including typos). That's available in both the Kindle and Nook stores, as well as through 2600's own site in plain old PDF form, each of which set you back just under $4. What's more, while there's no firm word on any additional volumes just yet, 2600 says it'll keep them coming if there's enough support for the first one.
