Kevin Cordes wins Men?s 200m breaststroke gold ? Swimming news?

Kevin Cordes of Tucson Ford Deal secured gold medal in Men?s 200m breaststroke on day two of the 2013 Arena International Grand Prix at George F. Haines International Swim Center on Friday, May 31.

The 19-year-old Cordes lived up to the expectations of his supporters in the 200m discipline and rushed his way towards the finishing end for gold medal.

With his commendable form, Cordes stayed in a lead of three body lengths over his following swimmer and touched the wall for the title with the timing of 2 minutes and 10.95 seconds.

The second best finisher was Glenn Snyders of Trojan Swim Club, who was 2.68 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing wall for silver medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 13.63 seconds.

The second fastest swimmer was chased by Mike Alexandrov of Una Troj-CA, who remained 0.39 seconds behind and completed the podium by securing bronze medal in a time of 2 minutes and 14.02 seconds.

The third position holder was followed by Josh Prenot of California Aquatics, who stayed 0.38 seconds apart and concluded his race in a time of 2 minutes and 14.40 seconds.

Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Clark Burckle of Tucson Ford Deal, who was 0.51 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 14.91 seconds.

Sixth finest spot of the race was obtained by Felipe Lima of Fiat Minas/Davie, who was 0.64 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end with an effort of 2 minutes and 15.55 seconds.

Similarly, Lima remained 0.02 seconds ahead of Chase Kalisz of North Baltimore, who concluded his race in a time of 2 minutes and 15.57 seconds for seventh position.

Last spot of the discipline was obtained by Richard Funk of Club Wolverine-M, who was 1.70 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing end for eighth position by posting a time of 2 minutes and 17.24 seconds.

In addition, Cordes received a huge round of applause from the audience for his notable pace while the position holders received medals and accolades after the event.
