Dan Stevens, who played Matthew, the former heir apparent on "Downton Abbey," discussed his recent weight loss during a visit to "The Graham Norton Show."
Former "Downton Abbey" star Dan Stevens opened up about his recent dramatic transformation on "The Graham Norton Show" Thursday night.
The actor revealed that he's lost a significant amount of weight since leaving the hit period drama and the role of Matthew Crawley.
"I've lost about 30 pounds since New Year, which, in British terms, is about two or three chins," he joked.
"It was for a role. It's always me, just different incarnations, different roles, different costumes and different sizes. As for the hair, it's pretty much my natural color. I went very dark for the last role, but I'll see where I go with it."

When asked if it was his decision to leave "Downton" he responded, "Of course, it was my decision, a very difficult one too, but it felt like the right thing to do. It was good to trust my instincts and go with it."
After massive controversy, Stevens added that he too was shocked at the nature in which the show's writers chose to end his character's life.
"I knew Matthew would die, but not like that necessarily."
