Your Town: Washington Union School District in Salinas seeks to fill vacancy on governing board

The Washington Union School District in Salinas is looking to fill a vacancy on the governing board.

Applicants must be a registered voter and live within the district's boundaries. The term runs Feb. 6 until the November election.

For an application, call administrative manager Diana Palmer at 484-2166. An application, letter of interest and resume must be returned to Palmer by 5 p.m. Jan. 23.

CARMEL

Commission holds dunes restoration workshop

Carmel's Forest and Beach Commission will hold a public workshop on restoration of the North Dunes area of Carmel Beach at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Carmel City Hall, Monte Verde Street between Ocean and Seventh avenues.

The commission seeks public comments on retaining or removing trees in the area as part of the restoration effort.
